Miss Celie and the Slapdash Sewist Chat: Family History

March 18th, 2008 · 11 Comments

This time Cidell and I talked about how we started sewing, the sewing that our grandmothers did, her trip to PR Weekend in LA, and of course lots of other random stuff.  We also propose some names for the podcast for you to ponder.

Hey ladies! Such fun is the world of pod cast! Keep it up :-) Bespoke Couture gets my vote, but I *really* dig the idea of the hemline hotline. Maybe a q&a session? Quickie tips?

    Ozwald Boateng? ;)

argh! Posting a comment made it stop playing… I’ll learn and collect all my random thoughts until the end next time.

Thanks for another fun podcast. I’m another fan of Shespoke Couture - only if you include a Hemline Hotline segment!

I am going to miss you for the next three weeks even though you are new.

I like shespoke too, but i like bespoke better. the hemline hotline has got to stay somehow!

and you should still say “keep on stitching” at the end of the show — if you can get it right.

Oh lovely podcast ladies! I am so sad you’re not going to have one for a few weeks, it’s so fun to listen to while I’m in my sewing room. Have a safe trip Trena!

I’m not in love with any of the suggested names. Remember the “Men of Film” bits from “In Living Color”? Your conversations remind me of those bits — so I thought of “Women on Sewing”, but I didn’t like that either. I love the feeling of listening in on the conversation of two friends who sew. You need something that conveys that friendship

Let me further explain my comment. When I compared you to the Men on Film bits, I meant the hipness and humor in your friendship and conversations. Of course, if you are too young to know about “In Living Color” you don’t know what I’m talking about. :)

I really loved your podcast. Whatever name is chosen should represent all types of sewing skills from beginners to professionals. Shespoke Couture sounds like a podcast for those who only do couture sewing. I think a name that is more inclusive would be better. I do like a Stitcher’s World. Just my opinion.

Late to the party again but I still had a wonderful time! That was so much fun. I’m going to agree with Christina, Shespoke Couture with a Hemline Hotline segment. Toodles!
